Temples, with Support From PAUW

Psychedelic guitars, sixties harmonies and, these days, a dancefloor: on Sunday 1 November 2026 the British band Temples plays the small hall of the Effenaar, with the Dutch band PAUW as support.

Who are Temples?

Temples are a British retro-psych band that broke through in 2014 with their debut album Sun Structures. The record was full of swirling guitars, layered vocals and melodies that sounded like a lost album from the late 1960s, and it made Temples part of the neo-psychedelic revival of that decade, alongside bands such as Tame Impala and MGMT. Songs from that album became favourites on indie radio and at festivals across Europe.

Since then the band has kept changing its sound. Their fifth album, BLISS, moves towards dance music, with glossy synths, more groove and a nod to the dance music of the late 1990s, while keeping the dreamy melodies the band is known for. Live, that combination of psychedelic rock and danceable rhythms makes for a colourful show.

A nice detail for Dutch fans: the band's drummer, Rens Ottink, is Dutch, which gives this show in Eindhoven a bit of a home-game feeling.

Support: PAUW

The evening opens with PAUW, a Dutch psychedelic rock band that fits perfectly with Temples. If you like the sound of the headliner, arrive in time for the support act.

Practical information

Why go?

The small hall of the Effenaar is an ideal place to see a band like Temples: close enough to see every guitar effect and synth, with a sound system that does justice to the layers in their music. A Sunday evening concert is also a nice way to end the weekend, and with doors at 19:30 you are home at a reasonable hour for work on Monday.

For internationals

The band sings in English, and the Effenaar is used to an international audience. If you are new in Eindhoven, a concert at the Effenaar is one of the easiest ways to discover the city's music scene.

More music the same week

The beginning of November is busy at the Effenaar, with concerts almost every evening. Elsewhere in the city, the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven hosts classical concerts and singer-songwriters, and from 7 November the city centre lights up for GLOW. Check the calendar for November 2026 for everything that is on.

Getting there

The Effenaar is at Dommelstraat 2, about five minutes' walk from Eindhoven Centraal. On Sunday evenings trains run less often than on weekdays, so check your connection home on ns.nl if you come from outside the city.
