Dotan
On Sunday 25 October 2026, singer-songwriter Dotan plays the main hall of the Effenaar. The concert is sold out, but tickets sometimes reappear on the Effenaar's official resale platform.
Who is Dotan?
Dotan is a singer-songwriter who has become one of the best-known names in Dutch pop with songs in English. Over the years he has released four well-received albums, scored international hits and toured the world. His music is often described as dreamy folk: songs that feel big and intimate at the same time, with warm vocals, acoustic guitars and arrangements that slowly swell into something grand. The Effenaar files the concert under pop and rock as well as singer-songwriter and Americana.
In October 2025 he released the single Last Goodbyes, a song about holding on to the memory of a person or a place that shaped your life, in the warm, almost hymn-like style that his fans love. It was the first sign of a new album, his fifth. Dotan himself has said that this fifth album feels more like a second debut, which suggests a fresh start rather than more of the same.
What to expect
Concerts by Dotan tend to be emotional, communal evenings, with an audience that sings along to the choruses. The main hall of the Effenaar holds about 1,300 people. Expect a mix of familiar songs and new material from the upcoming album.

Looking for a ticket?
Because the show is sold out, the Effenaar points fans to its own resale platform, where ticket holders who can't go can offer their tickets at a fair price. Be careful with tickets offered on social media or through unofficial websites: they may be fake or heavily overpriced, and they can be refused at the door. Only buy through the official channels listed on the Effenaar website.
The end of Dutch Design Week
25 October is the final day of Dutch Design Week. If you have a ticket, you could spend the afternoon at the last exhibitions at Strijp-S or in the centre and walk over to the Effenaar in the evening. On the same day, PSV play Feyenoord at the Philips Stadion in the afternoon, so expect a busy city.
For internationals
Dotan sings in English, and his music needs no translation. If you are new in Eindhoven, the Effenaar is a good place to get to know the local music scene, and its programme regularly features artists who sing in English.
Getting there
The Effenaar is at Dommelstraat 2, about five minutes' walk from Eindhoven Centraal, so it is easy to reach by train from anywhere in the Netherlands. Cyclists can use the bike parking at the station. Stratumseind and the city centre are around the corner for a drink or dinner before or after the show, and the Effenaar also has its own restaurant, where you can reserve a table.
