PSV vs VfB Stuttgart (Champions League)
A Champions League night with a special connection: on Wednesday 27 January 2027, PSV play VfB Stuttgart at the Philips Stadion in the UEFA Champions League. Kick-off is at 21:00.
Stuttgart and PSV
For PSV supporters, the name Stuttgart has a special ring. In 1988 PSV won the European Cup, the predecessor of the Champions League, in the final played in Stuttgart, beating Benfica on penalties. In the same season the club also won the Dutch league and cup. Meeting a club from that city in the Champions League brings back memories for every older PSV fan.
VfB Stuttgart is one of the traditional clubs of German football, from the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg, home to car makers such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. German clubs usually bring a large and loud group of away supporters, so expect a full stadium and a lot of noise.
PSV in the Champions League in 2026–27
This season PSV play several home matches in the Champions League, including Club Brugge on 4 November, Atlético Madrid on 9 December and VfB Stuttgart on 27 January. UEFA sets the dates and kick-off times; PSV's match centre always has the latest information.
Tickets
Many tickets for PSV home matches go to season-ticket holders and members with a PSV Club Card. Check the ticket information on psv.nl well in advance and only buy through PSV's official channels: tickets from unofficial sellers can be refused at the gate. We don't list a price, because availability and prices depend on your membership. No ticket? Many cafés in the city centre show PSV matches on big screens.
Match-day tips
- Arrive early. Security checks take longer at European matches.
- Bring ID. You may be asked to show identification with your ticket.
- Dress warmly. A January evening in the stadium can be freezing.
- Plan your way home. The match ends around 23:00; if you come from outside Eindhoven, check the last train on ns.nl.
- Wear red and white.
Watching in the city
No ticket? On Champions League nights, cafés in the city centre fill up with supporters watching on big screens. Arrive early to get a seat with a good view. It is one of the best ways to experience the atmosphere and meet locals, especially in the quiet winter weeks after the holidays.
For newcomers and German colleagues
Eindhoven is close to the German border, and many internationals in the region come from Germany. A match against a German club is the perfect occasion for some friendly rivalry at work. Whichever side you are on, a European night at the Philips Stadion is something to experience at least once.
Getting there
The Philips Stadion is at Frederiklaan 10a, about a fifteen-minute walk from Eindhoven Centraal. There is bike parking around the stadium. On match days the surrounding streets are busy and partly closed, so walking or cycling from the city centre is usually the quickest way to get there.
