Gipsy Kings, Featuring Nicolas Reyes

Bamboléo, Djobi Djoba, Volare: few bands have made so many people dance as the Gipsy Kings. On Thursday 10 June 2027, the Gipsy Kings featuring singer Nicolas Reyes play the Hertog Jan Zaal of the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.

Who are the Gipsy Kings?

The Gipsy Kings come from the south of France, from families of Spanish-Roma (Gitano) origin, and became world-famous with their mix of Catalan rumba, flamenco, salsa and pop. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1987, went gold and platinum around the world, and songs such as Bamboléo, Djobi Djoba and Samba Samba became hits far beyond France and Spain. Their flamenco versions of Volare and the Eagles' Hotel California are among their best-known recordings.

The band has won a Grammy Award, and for decades its sound of fast, rhythmic Spanish guitars and passionate vocals has been the soundtrack of summer parties, weddings and holidays around the world.

Nicolas Reyes

Nicolas Reyes has been the lead singer of the Gipsy Kings for more than forty years. His rough, powerful voice is what most people recognise immediately in the band's hits. Over the years, members of the original families have also formed different line-ups; this concert is billed as the Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes.

What to expect

A Gipsy Kings concert is a party. Expect a stage full of guitarists, hand-clapping rhythms, the big hits and an audience that won't stay seated for long. In June, at the start of summer, it is the perfect concert to bring friends or family.
