Pernille Haaland: Nordic AF (English Stand-Up)
Dry, deadpan and unapologetically Scandinavian: on Thursday 12 November 2026, Norwegian comedian Pernille Haaland brings her English-language stand-up show Nordic AF to LAB-1 in the city centre of Eindhoven.
Who is Pernille Haaland?
Pernille Haaland is a stand-up comedian from Norway who performs in English across Europe. In 2024 she won the award for Best Stand-Up Comedian at the Reykjavik Fringe Festival in Iceland, and in 2025 she was nominated for Best Comedian at the Norwegian comedy awards. Her style is dry and deadpan, the kind of humour where the biggest laughs come from a straight face and a well-timed pause.
The show
In Nordic AF, Haaland mixes personal stories with sharp social commentary. The show touches on politics, modern dating and reproductive rights, and on one of her more unusual experiences: performing stand-up for NATO personnel. Expect a comedian who isn't afraid of serious subjects, but who finds the absurd side of them.
For internationals in Eindhoven, the Nordic perspective adds an extra layer. If you have ever compared Dutch directness with other cultures, or wondered why every Scandinavian seems to take the cold so calmly, you will probably recognise a lot.

An early show
With a start at 19:00, this is an early comedy night, which leaves the rest of the evening free. And since the show falls in the middle of GLOW, the free light art festival, you can walk part of the GLOW route through the city centre after the show: the festival runs every evening until 23:00.
English comedy in Eindhoven
Eindhoven's English-language comedy scene has grown along with its international community. LAB-1 is at the centre of it, with touring comedians like Haaland and the regular Bell's Comedy Club nights, hosted by Irish comedian Stephen Bell. Tips for the evening
- Book in advance. Touring comedians at LAB-1 often sell out, and the room is not large.
- Have a drink first. LAB-1 has a bar, so arrive a little early and get a drink before the show.
- Sit where you like the risk. As at every stand-up show, the front rows may become part of the act.
- Check the age rating. The show is 16+, and the subjects are adult.
Getting there
LAB-1 is at Keizersgracht 19 in the city centre, about a ten-minute walk from Eindhoven Centraal. There are bike racks nearby and car parks in the centre. During GLOW, some city-centre streets are closed to cars in the evening, so walking, cycling or public transport is the easiest way to get there.
